About this activity

Dominica is the only country in the world where the sperm whale resides all year long. Just a short boat ride brings you into contact with the world's largest toothed animal in the calm turquoise Caribbean Sea. Whale watching operators follow strict codes of conduct, minimizing any disturbance, and never “luring” the whales. On the rare occasion when the whales may be elusive, you’re sure to see the acrobatics of hundreds of Spotted and Spinner Dolphins. Also Humpbacks Whales,Pilot Whales and other whales have been seen during our Cruises. OPERATOR: PH Whale Watch Dominica. Amazing, breathtaking views, awesome, considerate guides

Our 3hr tour in our 8man boat with our amazing guides Selwyn & Brittney was more than we expected! The waters were usually calm they said. And we saw beautiful whales (many) and learned their names through our guides - and learned so much more about these beautiful mammals & the beautiful country names Dominica!

Fun Whale of a day

The boat was very easy to find in Roseau, right next to the cruise ship dock. Although parking anywhere downtown is rather difficult if you have a car rental. The boat is small and holds a maximum of 6-8 people so beware if prone to seasickness on a wavy day. The whale tour was great and we saw 6 sperm whales during our trip. The crew was great and kept us entertained while searching for the whales (thanks Brittany).

Nice boat ride and great rum punch

We didn’t have luck seeing any whales nor dolphins but they tried. The weather was rainy close to the island but then became sunny and ended up being a nice day. Salle & Brittany took us to view champagne island and we got rum punch at the end. There’s always a risk with these types of excursions and we were prepared that we may not be successful.

Very professional, best whale watching tour we ever had

We did whale watching tours all over the world (Sri Lanka, Iceland, Soutth Africa) but this was really something special. We were only the 4 of us in one boat (out of max. 8 persons anyway). We saw 4 whales lined up like giant submarines not far from our boat. They were at a short ride from the shore. The captain is very skilled in handling the boat near the whales without disturbing them at all! The spotter did her job well. All in one it was the best whale watch experience we had so far. I highly recommend it to anyone who respects nature and wants to have a good time! Michael

Wonderful people!

The whale watching was great but the service was WONDERFUL. Somehow I ended up at the wrong dock. They actually came and found me. With 7 people in the boat they came in to the cruise ship dock. These are the best people you could entrust with your vacation. Thanks Brittany!
